Descript is the world’s first audio word processor, allowing you to edit voice audio by editing text.
First, if you ever need to generate transcripts of audio recordings, you'll love Descript - it automatically (and quickly) generates 90%+ accurate transcripts… and the audio stays linked to the text, so you can immediately listen to whatever you're reading. And Descript transcription is cheap, just 10 cents per minute.
Second, Descript is like an audio editor, but instead of editing waveforms, you just edit the text. It's incredibly fast and intuitive and will change your voice editing workflow.
By joining the private beta, you get access to an early version of the app we intend to release in a few months. We’re looking for people that have audio they need transcribed / edited to tell us what they like and what needs work. For helping with our beta, you'll get unlimited free transcription and the opportunity to influence the direction of the product.
Private Beta Caveats
You are using a pre-release version of the app - that means you should be prepared to encounter bugs and quirkiness.
One thing in particular: for the last few years, we've been using Descript to make Detour audio walks. So there's a whole slew of features in the current version you'll basically be ignoring. We'll be stripping those features out in an upcoming release.
